The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) was established in 2009 with the goal of contributing to the future growth and prosperity of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and its people by meeting the highest standards of nuclear safety, security and safeguards. roughout the 11 years since its inception, FANR has successfully fulfilled its mandate to ensure the safe, secure and peaceful use of nuclear energy and radiation sources in the UAE.
Each year FANR submits the Annual Report on its activities and achievements to the Minister of Presidential Affairs pursuant to Article (11) of the Federal Law by Decree No (6) of 2009 Concerning the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy. This Annual Report covers the twelve-month period ending 31 December 2020.
