Amend registration certificate to conduct regulated activities with regulated materials or regulated items

Description

Registration is a FANR authorization process that was introduced in FANR Regulation 29, which is applicable to radiation sources that do not warrant full regulatory control. Under this service, a licensee can amend the already existing registration certificate.

Required Documents

  • For Government Entities:
  • 1. A copy of the relevant legislation establishing the government entity
  • 2. The relevant technical information about the regulated material (Please consult the FANR Guide: Applying for a Regulated Material License)
  • For Private Companies:
  • 1. A copy of trade license
  • 2. A proof of membership of the applicable Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UAE
  • 3. Passport copy with UAE residence visa for the responsible person, and contact person as listed on the application form
  • 4. Relevant technical information about the regulated material (for more details see the FANR Guide: Applying for a Regulated Material License)
  • For Responsible Person:
  • 1. Provide valid passport copies and residence visa (the visa holder should be under the facility’s name as mentioned under the ‘Organization’ tab)
  • 2. If the Responsible Person is not the owner or the legal partner of the facility, submit to FANR an official Power of Attorney
  • 3. Provide Contact Person valid passport copies and residence visa (the visa holder should be under the facility’s name as mentioned under the ‘Organization’ tab)
  • 4. If the contact person’s visa is not under the facility’s name, you will need a ‘no objection’ letter from the two parties
  • For Radiation Protection Officer:
  • 1. Provide valid passport copy and residence visa (the visa holder should be under the facility’s name as mentioned under the ‘Organization’ tab)
  • 2. For Radiation Protection Officer (visa not under facility), submit employer ‘no objection’ and organization ‘no objection’ (where radiation protection services are provided)
  • 3. Provide a formal designation letter signed by Responsible Person, addressed to RPO detailing the radiation protection responsibilities and duties
  • 4. Provide recent experience or a CV
  • 5. Provide radiation safety training certificate, or confirmation of planned, or Commitment Letter by Responsible Person to provide the training in 3 months
  • Information about Radiation Sources: Provide the manufacturer’s certificate for any radioactive material, associated equipment, and radiation generators
  • If the inventory includes a radioactive source, you will need an agreement to return the disused radioactive material to the manufacturer
