Issue Irradiation Certificate

Description

Irradiation is the dose deliver of reference value as determined by the secondary standards dosimetry laboratory within the lab scope of activity to the customer’s passive dosimeters. The irradiation values are reported in the irradiation certificate. Irradiation is essential to ensure the passive dosimeters are recording and monitoring the radiation workers accurately which are used throughout the UAE to support radiation protection. The secondary standards dosimetry laboratory’s irradiation services are accredited by the Emirates National Accreditation System (ENAS) and based on the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Standard on the General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. FANR’s secondary standards dosimetry laboratory is accredited since December 2018. FANR’s secondary standards dosimetry laboratory (SSDL) offers irradiation services to the Dosimetry service providers. The list of these services is available on the website of Emirates National Accreditation System (ENAS).. In order to request the irradiation services from the secondary standards dosimetry laboratory, you need to fill in the relevant form: SSDL portal

Required Documents

The customer must send the irradiation request through the SSDL Portal and must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Register the company by opening an account on SSDL Portal and filling all relevant details
  2. Upload the required documents which are Instrument Manual/ Technical Specifications
  3. Read and agree to SSDL Terms and Conditions

Time Frame

The customer has to select the calendar slot when sending the request through the SSDL Portal. Once the SSDL Team has approved the customer request, the instrument(s) shall be delivered under customer responsibility to SSDL on the selected slot. The instrument(s) will be irradiated within 5 working days from the date of delivery to the SSDL for normal request unless an urgent request is selected and to be delivered within one working day. The SSDL team will update the customer on its request status through SSDL Portal and will send notification when irradiation is complete.

 

The delivery and pick-up must be done on week days (Monday to Thursday) between 9 am and 2 pm and Friday between 8 am to 12 pm.

How To Apply

In order to deliver the irradiation service, FANR’s secondary standards dosimetry laboratory needs to receive the irradiation request from the SSDL portal 

Once the SSDL Team approves the irradiation request and you agree on the SSDL Terms and Conditions, you can send your instrument(s) by express courier to FANR’s secondary standards dosimetry laboratory or to take it there yourself directly.
