He highlighted the cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the United Arab Emirates in the nuclear energy programme. He stressed that the cooperation started when the two countries signed in 2009 an agreement to cooperate in the nuclear sector and during the following years multiple agreements were signed between FANR and different nuclear regulatory entities in Korea covering safety, security and safeguards as well as capacity building. Another aspects of deepening cooperating is the establishment in 2018 of the High-Level Consultations Committee on Nuclear Cooperation between the UAE and Korea to foster the bilateral nuclear energy cooperation
On the margin of the conference, FANR delegation met its counterparts from the US Nuclear
Regulatory Commission, the South Korean Institute of Nuclear Safety, and other international stakeholders where they discussed matters related to strengthening cooperation in nuclear regulatory aspects as well as the latest update of FANR's oversight activities and inspection in the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.
