FANR Honours its Excellence Staff

​The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) has today recognized its distinguished staff for the year 2020 in a ceremony organized virtually who were nominated for the Director-General Medal Awards and the Annual Award. The ceremony is annual event that FANR holds to show appreciation to its staff for their efforts exerted supporting FANR’s mission as a globally recognized nuclear regulator.

FANR’s Director-General Christer Viktorsson stressed that excellence is a core principle of FANR and FANR has an indispensable mission to protect the public, workers and environment from radiation risks and ensuring peaceful use of nuclear applications.
The event also celebrated staff who spent over 10 years and 5 years of service at FANR.


The staff gathered today during the ceremony and expressed their appreciation and gratitude towards each other in recognizing in 2020 achievements, setting a role model for others in the organization and enhancing the culture of excellence and teamwork.
In 2020, FANR had major milestones across the UAE such issuing the Operating License of the first nuclear power plant, making the UAE the first country in the Arab region to operate a power plant. Other milestones included receiving six ISO certifications and intellectual property certifications for its smart services as well as others.
The awards included the following categories and winners :

Director General Excellence Award
Best FANR Department in Services:
• Information and Communication Technology
• Nuclear Security Department

Happiest Department in 2020: Finance and Control Department
Best Department in innovation in 2020: Radiation Safety Department

Best Administrative Employee: Sameera Al Braiki
Best Specialized Employee: Saeed Semaihi
Best Youth Employee: Mohammed Al Katheeri
Best Corporate Communications: Employee Rashid Al Falahi

The Annual Award winners as follow:

Best Regulatory Approach: Ali Al Remeithi
Recognized Efforts Award: Samia Mohamed
Exceptional Employee Award: Mohamed Al Katheeri
